My Brush Collection of jewellery is inspired by a love of brushes and stems from research into traditional brush making techniques.

This rectangular ring is made from sustainably sourced ash wood, which has been ebonised and sealed with a light layer conservator-grade micro-crystalline wax. The brush fibres are unwanted sewing thread from friends, neighbours and charity shop finds. A combination of red and black thread is combined to create a subtle melange, which contrasts the ebonised ash. The knots of brush fibre are attached to the base with red linen thread.

The brush fibres are 17mm long
